Wireless Network

Since the installation of a stabile large scale wireless network is a difficult task, the network group has chosen to install it in stages. The wireless netværket is as of January 15th 2008 running in a first public test phase. This means that the support of it is limited, and downtime will occur. See below for client installation guides.

Coverage

We will continuously improve the coverage by setting up more access points. In the first phase our goal is to cover all the common kitchens well by having four access points in each wing. Later the rest of the corridor will be covered. When this is set up on all wings, we will probably put up extra access points on the corridors. The apartments (that is, not dormitory rooms) will probably not be covered for a while, since this requires special access points for outdoor use.
